EV charging, without waiting for the grid.

EVBOOST designs and pilots hybrid EV charging stations that combine photovoltaics, battery storage and smart energy management software. The aim is fast, cheaper charging without overloading the power grid.

The problem

Why fast charging stalls on a weak grid

The grid falls short

In many areas, especially rural ones, applying for a stronger grid connection either gets rejected or costs up to €80,000, with months of waiting.

Demand spikes

When many vehicles charge simultaneously, sudden demand spikes burden the grid and drive energy costs up for everyone.

Disconnected technologies

Chargers, batteries and photovoltaics from different manufacturers often cannot communicate with each other.

The EVBOOST solution

A station that «borrows» power from the battery

Power when you need it

The stored energy in the battery «boosts» the charger, enabling fast charging even on a low-capacity grid line.

Smart prediction

Prediction algorithms decide when it's cheapest to charge the battery and when to feed the vehicles, reducing cost.

Open standards

Support for international protocols (OCPP, OCPI) so the system works with equipment from any manufacturer.

The consortium

Two Greek companies, one shared solution

CLOCKWORK builds and installs energy systems. OPTIMEMS writes the management software. Together they take the station from design through the pilot.
